Good to hear the news, because it certainly looked all but dead (at least the .NET CF)

We have been eyeing CE for the next version of our industrial controller, but recently started considering Linux as a more stable alternative (from a long-term perspective).

Hopefully, Microsoft will be able to re-invigorate its embedded platform, otherwise it will remain a fringe player.

When I turn "on" Data Connection from cellular menu. My SMS doesn't work. It says "try again" all the time. And when I disable Data Connection it works again :(

Anyway it's amusing because I've found another bug, if you launch a MessageBox from a Silverlight app and you pass the HWND of the app (which is normal, because the app is the owner of the modal), after you close the message box, no event will be triggered no more :) it's like all the controls lost the handlers.

Be very careful if you change your LiveID. It will make your Windows Live connection useless on the phone. Why did MS allow a design flaw to persist from WP7 to WP7.5 such that the Windows LiveID cannot be edited? When changing the LiveID, it renders the WP unable to update or do other things that depend on the LiveID. I have contacted Support (CaseID 1165217901), and they refuse to even consider it a problem. I am supposed to just reset my phone and lose all my data. That is totally unprofessional.

They say in doc that FindName is looking with "current xml scope" and within that scope in your example the last level is grid where you add child controls. FindName will not find them.

I found another problem - radio buttons in popup menu. Nightmare... Let me know if you curious about that.

BTW, it doesn't work even for static controls. If you create a user control 1 with button "btn1" and then use it inside another user contol 2 if you call FindName("btn1") from user control 2 it will not be found.

The conference was nice at least from the videos, but I am afraid that Microsoft is loosing its momentum. They are already more then one year behind iOS and Android for mobile devices, and they starting this preview it will take more than one year to really ship it.

@Anonymous Forget about ActiveSync you should use TCP connectivity, if you follow the steps from Getting Started with VCEPC it will work for sure (at least for me it did). Remember that you need a DHCP server (it can be your router), or if not you must set the loopback addess as described in Advanced VCEPC document.
