Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 aka “Cashmere” is now available for download from the Microsoft webpage! As stated in one of my previous posts, Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 is an update to Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 so before you install it on your system you need to have the following components on your computer:
- Windows Embedded CE 6.0 (Trial)
- Visual Studio 2005 (Trial)(except Express)
- Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1
- Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 Update for Windows Vista (if applicable)
- Windows Embedded CE 6.0 SP1 (required if PB 6.0 Tools have been installed)
- Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2
Also available for download are the following tools and 3rd party applications which are newly supported in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3:
- Expression Blend 2 Trial: Tool to define the visual scene using a source XAML file for Silverlight for Windows Embedded
- Office and PDF Viewers: which used to be part of Windows CE 5 but disappeared in Windows Embedded CE 6.0
- QQ Messenger Client
